2 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Region 1

DAGUPAN CITY — The Department of Health (DOH) – Center for Health Development (CHD) 1 reported two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Region 1 Wednesday night.

La Union recorded 1 new case in a 65-year-old male from barangay Cadapli, Bangar town. He has no travel history and unknown exposure.

According to the DOH ,the patient felt the symptoms on May 6 and was admitted immediately at the Ilocos Training Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) on the same day.

He was confirmed positive on May 13 after receiving the confirmatory result from the Baguio General Hospital.

The other confirmed case is a 29-year-old male from barangay Dupac in Asingan, Pangasinan.

He has travel history to the National Capital Region (NCR), started to feel symptoms on April 30, and sought medical consultation on May 7.

His confirmatory result was released on May 13. He has been placed on strict home quarantine.

The DOH reported that as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Region 1 recorded a total of 62 confirmed cases, including the two new confirmed cases, 41 recoveries, 12 deaths, eight admitted in hospitals, and one on strict home quarantine.
