PNP chief Azurin Jr. awards 8 Cordi cops

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Eight police officers of Police Regional Office Cordillera received awards from Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo A. Azurin Jr. during his command visit here Feb. 16.
    Azurin Jr. led awarding ceremony assisted by Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar and senior officers from the PNP national headquarters.
    Capt. George D. Juliano and Cpl. Jessie Boy Pasion of Baguio City Police Office were awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) for the arrest of an individual listed as no. 5 most wanted person regional level for rape in Tuba, Benguet.
    Also, Capt. Angeline C. Hombrebueno and Cpl. Blanco T. Agagon, Jr. of Benguet Police Provincial Office received the same award for the arrest of an individual listed as no. 4 most wanted person at the regional level for rape in La Trinidad, Benguet.
    Meanwhile, Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya (PNP Relations Medal) was awarded to Lt. Col. Dino W. Cogasi and PMSg. Lourdan A Alindan of Benguet PPO for  successful installation of five solar streetlights through     “Project Pailaw 2022” as part of the PROCor’s “Malasakit, kaayusan, kapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran program in Mankayan, Benguet.
    The same medal was given to Maj. Peter D. Camsol and PMSg Sharon D Binay-an of Benguet PPO for their active participation during the two-day medical and dental mission and Kasimbayan outreach program “Malasakit sa kapwa,” in La Trinidad, Benguet.
    Azurin Jr. congratulated the awardees while encouraging other police officers to follow in their footsteps.
Earlier, Azurin was greeted with gongs and indigenous dance by cops an hostetd by Bazar.
     The Chief PNP visited PROCOR to personally check the welfare of his people and graced the groundbreaking ceremony of the Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 and inauguration blessing of the new building of the Regional Forensic Unit – Cordillera, the regional information office said in a report.
    Azurin talked to PROCor officers wherein he commended them under the leadership of Bazar, and Command Group for making Cordillera a safe and peaceful place to live and visit.
    “The eradication of illegal drugs in Benguet and Kalinga is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the police in the Cordillera region. The destruction of Marijuana Plants and crops in these two provinces has resulted in a significant blow to the illegal drug trade. And we can all be proud of these efforts, this is a victory not just for the law enforcement but for our entire society,” Azurin Jr. said.
    The Chief PNP was accompanied by Maj. Gen. Oliver Enmodias, deputy commander of Area Police Command - Northern Luzon;  Maj. Gen. Robert Rodriguez , director for personnel and records management; Maj. Gen. Jesus D. Cambay Jr., director for comptrollership; Brig. Gen. Constancio Chinayog Jr., director of PNP Forensic Group; Brig. Gen. Andrew D. Cayad, director PNP Intelligence Group; Brig. Gen. Neri Vincent Ignacio, executive officer of the Directorate for Logistics; Brig. Gen. Wilson Soliba, senior executive assistant to the PNP  chief; Col. Albert Magno, acting director of explosive ordnance disposal and K9 unit and Col. Redrico Maranan, Acting chief of PNP Public Information Office.
    Azurin also graced the blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed four-story modern building of the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera here.
    Engineer Khadaffy D. Tanggol, regional director of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-CAR) formally turned over the building to Brig. Gen. Constancio T. Chinayog Jr. director of Forensic Group.
    Azurin was was assisted by Bazar, Col. Marites B. Villacarlos, Chief of RFU-COR and Benguet Gov. Melchor Diclas.
    Rev. Fr. Maj. Alexander V. Pardo, regional pastoral officer of PROCor, led  blessing of the building.
