BONTOC, Mountain Province- One hundred individuals availed of free services during Tuberculosis (TB) Caravan here as part of activities in celebration of the 115th Bontoc Foundation Day and 19th Am-among Festival this September.
Nurse IV Jessica Patingan of the Municipal Health Office said the activity aimed to find and treat folks afflicted with TB. Eleven were found positive of TB.
Among services provided were X-ray and consultation.
Patingan said they were now in communication with patients for them to be treated in government TB DOTS facilities where TB treatment is free.
The TB Caravan was realized with initiative of the Bontoc local government through the MHO in collaboration with Provincial Health Office, Department of Health, Philippine Business for Social Progress, and Rotary Club of Guiguinto Premiere Inc., from Bulacan.
The caravan was also an occasion for strengthening linkages between LGUs, health facilities, health workers and communities against TB.
